George Moore
George Moore is a producer, composer and orchestrator based in London. After graduating from the Jazz Piano program at London’s prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama George worked for several years as a session keys player and musical director before gravitating towards the world of songwriting and production.
His initial work (YEBBA’s timeless debut “Evergreen”, Kwabs’s “Perfect Ruin” and his contributions to NAO’s GRAMMY-nominated album “Saturn”) quickly caught the attention of major publishers, culminating in a publishing deal with Warner Chappell.
George’s ability to effortlessly cross genres has led to collaborations across a broad spectrum of contemporary music. He has worked closely in recent years with Stormzy, contributing to two tracks on his third #1 album “This Is What I Mean” including the single “Firebabe”, which was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2024 BRIT Awards. They have since continued to write new music together, including two original songs featured in Stormzy’s acting debut, the short film “Big Man”, created in collaboration with Apple.
He has also worked with Snoh Aalegra, YEBBA, Olivia Dean, NAO, Serpentwithfeet, Jamila Woods, Cat Burns, Rudimental, Sugababes, Paloma Faith, Kwabs, Adam Lambert, Rozzi, PJ Morton, James Vickery, Rum.gold, Lapsley, Maria Jose Llergo and many more.
As an orchestrator George has contributed to various concerts at the BBC Proms, including 2024’s celebration of iconic jazz composer Henry Mancini, 2023’s tribute to Bollywood legend Lata Mangeshkar, and 2022’s Radio 1 Prom featuring Kojey Radical, Poppy Ajudha and Tiana Major9. He has also written arrangements for the Heritage Orchestra, Mahalia, NAO and Farr.
2024 saw George commissioned by Park Avenue Artists and the estate of Whitney Houston to write original orchestrations for The Voice Of Whitney: A Symphonic Celebration, a concert tribute honouring the legendary artist by pairing her original vocal recordings with newly arranged orchestral accompaniments. The concert has been performed by the Chicago Philharmonic at the Ravinia Festival, the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, at Town Hall in New York City and will embark on a US tour later in 2025.
George has also been requested on a number of occasions to work as a piano tutor for high-profile actors, teaching the likes of Dustin Hoffman, Sacha Baron Cohen and Rami Malek for his Oscar-winning performance as Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
